We all rely on farms, so we all need to stay informed and active on farming. We can lend our voices, our choices, and our votes to grow a social, economic, and political landscape that values farming. Through grassroots organizing and advocacy, policy change, research, and storytelling we are helping create an environment that will support thriving, interconnected Maine farms.
Policies at all levels of government have a profound impact on Maine farmers, and all aspects of local food - from farmland and food production, to processing, distribution, and consumption. We partner with farmers, policymakers and other stakeholders to cultivate a political and economic environment in which Maine farms can thrive. You can be a part of shaping farm-friendly policy in your own community, and on the state and national level.
Are you interested in joining us to create policy change?
We are building a robust, resilient, innovative food system that is rooted in Maine farms - and there is so much you can do to join us! When you take a pledge, you grow the power of Maine farms by becoming an informed advocate for Maine farms, put your commitment to local agriculture into practice, and grow community support!
The more we learn about the experiences of farmers, the more we value the many ways farms benefit our communities - and understand the challenges they’re up against. Browse our media catalog of films, photography, podcasts, and more. Help share the exciting, complex, and evolving stories of Maine farms and send a story to a friend, or post one to your social media channel.
What’s going on in your neck of the woods? We want you to share a story about why farms matter to your community, a challenge that is impacting your farm, or what is happening in agriculture in your town! We will be in touch to learn more as soon as possible.
