Sell Farmland

We purchase farms that are at risk of being developed and falling out of agriculture or are unaffordable for farmers. After buying the land, we protect it with an agricultural easement and sell the property to a farmer at its farmland value. You can also list your farmland on FarmLink.

Buy Protect Sell

Do you know of a farm for sale? When considering a farm purchase, we evaluate the quality of the soils for agriculture, the amount of land available to farm, the condition of any existing infrastructure, and the likelihood that we will be able to identify farmers to purchase the property. In general, we prioritize Buy Protect Sell  projects that help farmers access land more affordably and that protect farmland vulnerable to being developed.

If you know of a farm that might be a good fit for our Buy Protect Sell program, don’t hesitate to contact us.

Invest in Farmland

It takes capital to make Buy Protect Sell projects possible, which MFT covers through a combination of our own funds, financing from banks, and financing from private investors. Private investors support the BPS program with loans of $50,000 (or more) for a period of 2 years (or more) paying a modest interest rate.
If you are interested in investing in farmland, contact us.

If you have a farm for sale or lease, you can list your property and search for a new farmer on Maine FarmLink.
