This #GivingTuesday, help us GROW access to local food, so that ALL Mainers can eat healthy, farm-fresh fruits and veggies!
MFT is part of a statewide effort to expand nutrition incentives, now called Maine Harvest Bucks, at farmers’ markets, local food retail outlets like food hubs and co-ops, and CSA farms, so that SNAP/EBT shoppers can get healthy, local food, plus bonus produce to make those limited benefits stretch a lot further.
Maine Harvest Bucks increases the value of federal nutrition assistance spent at participating retail stores, helping people bring home more locally grown fruits and vegetables. The wins are three-fold: low-income consumers eat more healthy food, Maine farmers gain new customers and make more money, and more food dollars stay in the local economy.
Share the bounty with ALL Mainers this #GivingTuesday by helping MFT, Maine Federation of Farmers Markets, MOFGA, and the rest of the Maine Local Foods Access Network bring the Maine Harvest Bucks program to more communities across Maine.
