Some good news this week! Governor LePage announced that he will release $5 million of the voter-approved bond funds for the Land for Maine's Future program. This effective program helps protect working farmland, waterfront, forests, wildlife habitat, and other land for future generations.

We are so thankful to all of you who joined us in raising your voices in support of LMF. Because of you, and thousands of others who care about Maine's future, Maine lands will be protected and will continue to nurture our sense of place, ecosystem, and economy.

The LMF Action Day originally scheduled for January 12th is postponed until further notice, but we welcome you to join us in the Hall of Flags on January 6th at the State House as MFT, along with other LMF Coalition members and land trusts, will be talking with legislators about how important the LMF program is to our members and to Maine, and encouraging them to pass a bill to reauthorize the $6 million bond that expired in November 2015.

We'll be sure to keep you posted with legislative updates and opportunities to get involved. Thank you for your support and commitment to protecting Maine's future!
