We've reached a pivotal point in our Land for Maine's Future advocacy, and we need your help!
The Land For Maine’s Future Coalition is organizing a veto override Day of Action in Augusta on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, to encourage legislators to override Governor LePage’s expected veto of LD 1454 - a bill that would force the Governor to release bonds approved by the majority of Maine voters and restore the LMF program. Let your state legislators know you support Land for Maine’s Future: Details and RSVP online here.
Here’s the plan:
8:00 a.m. – Check in & registration at the Natural Resources Council of Maine (3 Wade St., Augusta, one block from the State House)
8:30 a.m. – Welcome from LMF Coalition and Key Legislators
8:45 a.m. – Overview of LD 1454, the Land for Maine’s Future bill
9:30 a.m. until Vote – Speak with Your Legislator at the State House
Contact your legislators before the event and let them know you strongly support LD 1454 and need them to vote to override the Governor’s certain veto. You can find the contact information for your state Senator & Representative here.
Thank you for speaking up for Maine’s natural resources and the special places, including farms, protected by the Land for Maine’s Future program.
