Georges River Land Trust and Maine Farmland Trust would like to invite you to a discussion about opportunities currently available for farmland owners in the Union area who are interested in protecting their land from development. This meeting will occur on Wednesday, November 11 at the Union Town Hall, from 5:00 - 6:30 PM, with light refreshments served.

Many farmland owners plan to keep their property for many years to come, but see value in protecting it with an easement and/or finding a farmer to utilize it. If this is your situation, we are hopeful that you will consider working with us. Several options exist for interested land owners, including significant funding currently available for the purchase of conservation easements on farmland.

We hope you will consider attending this discussion. If you are not able to attend this meeting, but wish to discuss some of these options over the phone or in person, please contact Adam Bishop of MFT at 207-338-6575 or Annette Naegel of GRLT at 207-594- 5166. Please r.s.v.p. to either Adam or Annette if you are able to attend, and please be encouraged to share this invitation with other farmers whom you think may be interested.
