Farmland Access & Transfer Manager

The Farmland Access & Transfer Program Manager’s role is to develop and manage Maine Farmland Trust’s work to support successful access to land for farm seekers and connections between farmland owners and prospective farmers, resulting in the continuation or reactivation of Maine’s farms and farmland. The Manager is the primary point of contact at MFT for beginning farmers, farmers seeking land, and farmland owners looking to lease or sell land to farmers. For beginning farmers and farm seekers, the Manager supports those farmers in their land search with personalized assistance for a successful search, coordinating support with MFT program staff and other service providers as needed. For farmland owners, the Manager supports those farmland owners with customized assistance in assessing needs, finding a buyer or lessee, and coordinating with MFT’s Technical Assistance Specialist to provide succession planning support if needed. The Manager oversees the management and development of MFT’s Maine FarmLink online tool to support land access and transfer. The Manager supervises the Farmland Access & Transfer Associate. The Manager is a member of the Farm Network team, and to be successful, the Manager will work collaboratively across all programs to deliver the best farmer support experience.

Location: This position can be based out of Maine Farmland Trust’s Portland or Belfast office, or can be remote but must remain based in Maine. Regular travel to farms and events around the state is required.

Salary Range: $64,000 – $70,000

Annual Fund Manager

The Annual Fund Manager is an integral member of the Engagement Team. Working closely with the team and colleagues across the organization, the Annual Fund Manager is responsible for the strategizing, management, and analysis of MFT’s direct mail campaigns, which include regular annual fund solicitations to acquire, renew, and upgrade support from individuals and businesses at multiple times throughout the year, as well as special project campaigns, typically 2-3 times per year. They coordinate messaging and themes with the communications team to highlight donor impact and increase engagement. They carry a portfolio of approximately 100 donors, working with colleagues and the Board of Directors to connect them to MFT’s work and engage them in additional, renewed, or increased giving. This individual also helps to identify and execute event strategies in cooperation with others on the Engagement team; participates in other cultivation and fundraising events to help nurture and broaden the MFT community; and represents the organization at outreach events such as fairs and conferences.

We offer a possible salary range describing the level of compensation we’d expect to offer for the advertised position. Benefits correspond to full-time employment, but are also offered to part-time employees on a prorated basis.
